Clinton Griffiths grew up in Deming, N.M., where he spent much of his time in 4-H, FFA and showing cattle. In 1998, Griffiths enrolled at Oklahoma State University in agriculture communications. While there, he spent four years working on the original SUNUP production as a reporter, editor and producer. In 2002, he graduated and left Oklahoma for a job in Hays, Kan., as a one-man-band television reporter for KWCH in Wichita. There he covered 16 counties in northwest Kansas and anchored his own local cut-in during the state-wide 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. In 2003, Griffiths was asked to move from Hays and become a reporter for KWCH (CBS) in Wichita. In Wichita, his beats included both agriculture and aviation. Wichita is home to many of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers including Cessna, Boeing, Hawker Beechcraft and Bombardier-Learjet. That work led him to a job at Spirit AeroSystems in 2005. There he worked as a communication specialist working on corporate videos and writing for company publications. His work mainly focused on the 14,000 employees worldwide. Griffiths also finished his MBA from Wichita State University in June of 2008, just before accepting the position back at OSU as the senior TV producer/host of SUNUP. |
